Flames Midget Prospect Showcase – 2013

Saturday December 28 marked the First Annual Flames Prospect Showcase.  Members of the 16AA and 18AA teams hit the ice in a Red/White game at Bethlehem Municipal in front of area College, Prep, and Junior programs.  Players had an opportunity to show off their talents and meet with coaches after the game.  The Flames would like to thank all of the players, families, and coaches for making it a great event.

Midget 16AA Captures Eastern Regional Silver Stick Championship!

The Midget 16AA Team captured the Championship at the Eastern Regional Silver Stick® held in Columbia, MD on Nov 29 – Dec 1 and and will advance to the 45th Annual Midget International Finals tournament in Ontario, Canada on Jan 17 – 19 competing against the other Regional Champions from the United States and Canada.  The Silver Stick® motto is “Citizenship and International Good will through Silver Stick® Hockey will be experienced as teams from both Canada and the United States compete amongst each other for the coveted sterling silver championship pin.”  Congratulations to the Lehigh Valley Flames Midget 16 AA Team for this significant accomplishment!

Midget 16AA Defeats Two AYHL Tier I Teams in Non-League Play This Past Weekend

Oct 5 & 6, 2013. The Flames Midget 16AA team faced AYHL Tier I competition in the VF Minutemen and NJ Colonials U16 AAA American Teams and came away with an 8-4 and 4-0 victory respectively.  Simon Rybansky tallied a hat trick in the 8-4 victory vs. the Minutemen, and Jarret Ballister shut-out the Colonials with 26 saves. The 16AA team is now 11-1-2 as they head to Foxboro, MA to play in the Midget Classic and is scheduled to face Tier I and II competition from NJ, MA and NH this coming weekend, Oct 12-14.

Midget 16AA Defeats Team Comcast In Non-League Action

AUGUST 3, 2013. The Flames Midget 16AA team took on powerful Team Comcast today and came away with a come-from-behind 2-1 victory. In what was the 16AA team’s first game together as a team, they scored early in the third period to put the game away for good.

Flames Represented at EJHL Summer Showcase

EJHL-logoThe Eastern Junior Hockey League (EJHL) hosted a Summer Showcase at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, MA on Jul 18 – 21 with a field of 64 teams.  Congratulations to Jackson Goodman, Lehigh Valley Flames 16 AA, who represented the Flames well in the Junior B Division by scoring 5 points in 3 games and finishing with a +5 on defense.  The Junior B division consisted primarily of players from the US Premiere Hockey League – Empire Division, Metropolitan Junior Hockey League and Midget Major U18 AAA and AA players.
