Although the Lehigh Valley Flames are new in name for the 2011-2012 season, they exist because of a combining of two long-standing youth hockey franchises: The Bethlehem Blast and the Lehigh Valley Comets. Throughout the years, many graduates of these teams have gone on to have an impact in the hockey world.
